SPEECH-According to History.com, the Columbine Shooting was a shooting spree in Littleton, Colorado on April 20, 1999. However, we are not here for simply a history lesson, we are here for justice. Let us say their names. Cassie Bernall, Steve Curnow, Corey DePooter, Kelly Fleming, Matt Kechter, Daniel Mauser, Daniel Rohrbougher, Rachel Scott, Isaiah Shoels, John Tomlin, Lauren Townsend, Kyle Velasquez and Coach Dave Sanders. Thirteen innocent lives taken and now 17 more to add to the list. So how dare we, as a country, 19 years later, having not made a change, even consider sitting down to do nothing? You, each and every one of you here today are people who give me hope in tomorrow and the ability to live safely. The ability for elementary school students to not worry if their light up Sketchers will tip off a school shooter of their location. LET US SAY THEIR NAMES. Cassie Bernall, Steve Curnow, Corey DePooter. The ability to live without fear. LET US SAY THEIR NAMES. Kelly Fleming, Matt Kechter, Daniel Mauser. The ability to use our voices without being called a crisis actor. LET US SAY THEIR NAMES. Daniel Rohrbougher, Rachel Scott, Isaiah Shoels. The ability to go to school without breathing our last breath. LET US SAY THEIR NAMES. John Tomlin, Lauren Townsend, Kyle Velasquez and Coach Dave Sanders. Let us say their names …
